Over 22 hours of specialized labor goes into each Enigma case, far more than any other case on the market, limiting our capacity to only 3 of them per month in our Cremona workshop. This painstaking attention, together with our 20 years' experience, can only result in the highest build quality and uncompromising characteristics that make sure your instrument and bows are protected to the highest degree.

The multicolor silk velvet is custom made in Como (Northern Italy) on a pattern designed by Mr. Musafia and color-coordinated to matte silk velvet and satin, also especially-made and unique to Musafia cases.

A touch of elegance, done in the old violin-maker's tradition. Even the varnish itself is mixed in our workshop with age-old ingredients: no sprays or ready-made varnishes are used in order to ensure that authentic finish.

This is not a case for everyone. The extremely specialized labor necessary to make each Enigma case forcibly limits the number we can make to only three per month, so each one is truly special.

The three individual compartments allow a rational organization of instrument accessories. In addition, the central location of the violin distances it from the extremities, useful in the event of severe impact. The only zone where the instrument is close to the frame is protected by through-bolted zinc-plated steel reinforcements. All useful space is utilized, either as storage space or as reinforcement.

A pleasure to the eye, and to the mind since they do not corrode and weaken with time. In addition, the carrying strap attachments are through-bolted to stainless-steel threaded traction plates for security.

Another Musafia first, during construction a thin polyeurethane film is applied, permeating the pores of the structure, keeping water out and allowing the case to actually float (pictured is a different model, taken during testing in California).

Since 1988 all Musafia Cremona Italy cases can be equipped with Tropicalization, composed of foam and alluminum film, which reduces interior temperature excursion up to 60%.  This important feature, unique to Musafia cases, is standard on the Enigma.

Four micro-beams illuminate the two main accessory compartments at the command of a switch, while an LED signals that the lights are on with the compartments closed in order to avoid unnecessary battery drainage.  

Just one more thoughtful Musafia touch.

    Now featuring bright, high-output, low-drain L.E.D. that will work over 150 hrs on a set of batteries.

The lid and the bottom fit together like the closure of a vault. Introduced for the first time on a professional case, we think the Weatherguard valance and groove will soon become a standard by which cases are judged. 

Six-layer plywood is used for the frame with the Continuum High Tensile™ method, which is designed to support a load of 130kg (286lbs). (more info) (Value quoted relative to violin model during testing only. Other case models may have different resistance values).

We went to a lot of effort to design and build ENIGMA to be the best case in the world.
