WHAT WE'VE DONE IN 2005!
Why our research and development continues to bring better and better cases to the market.

Dear Musicians, During the course of the past year much has been done at Musafia Cremona Italy to raise the standards of our violin and viola cases to meet the ever-more demanding requests of musicians worldwide. Here are just a few examples of the 16 changes major importance we introduced in 2005 with no price increase: 1 - We re-designed and perfected our ultralight cases (Ultraleggero and Luxury Ultralight) to the point that they are stronger, more compact, more luxurious and lighter than some well-known cases made of high-tech materials, at the same time bringing our trademark instrument safety standards to even our lower-priced cases. 2 - Further crash-testing prompted us to fine-tune our suspension system in order to protect even better the instrument in case of longitudinal (lengthwise) impact. 3 - We introduced exclusive cherrywood burl trim now fitted in Master Series Exclusive, Master Series Aureum, and Enigma cases. This trim is finished by hand with the time-honored gumlack system. The varnish, mixed and colored in our own workshop, is applied in six coats with sanding in between each coat. 4 - Our Cordura® case cover are now treated with Teflon®, which offers the advantages of lasting longer and looking better - in fact the Teflon® treatment reduces the accumulation of dirt and grime.
We could of course go on, but now what we would like to do is explain what the 2006 model Musafia cases offer. All 2006 Musafia Cremona Italy cases in fact offer a number of small but important new improvements, but here are the most important: - The Continuum High Tensile™ manufacturing process now includes the new EnCase™ system, tested over almost a year, making Musafia cases considerably more resistant to side impact - yet without increasing weight! - We've introduced new, cutting-edge safety features (all standard on the Enigma), including protecting the instruments from the damaging effects of electro-magnetic radiation (a.k.a. EMR or Electro-smog) through a encapsulement called RadiationSafe™, and our innovative PressurePorts™, devised to stabilize the internal relative humidity levels in case of heat or direct sunlight. You'll find more information about these and our other improvements for our 2006 cases on our "What's New" page. All of this to say that we really believe in making the best possible cases we can, without cutting corners or trying to reduce costs for the sake of making quick profits. This of course means that our cases are more costly than most, but for us, and for myself personally, protecting the world's most treasured violins and violas is something we are proud of. I thank you for your attention. Dimitri Musafia
